Exodus Ch.14
Abba Father, we praise You and thank you for this day LORD. Thank you for the deliverance You are giving us today through Your Word from every lie of the enemy In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
Chapter 14 is one of the most well known Scriptures in the Bible by both non-Christians and Christians. In this chapter, Pharaoh decided to change his mind and chase after the children of Israel which was all in God's infinite perfect wisdom. Exodus 14:8 says, "And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued the children of Israel; and the children of Israel went out with boldness." However, the children of Israel were greatly disheartened when they saw their enemies after them. They told Moses, "Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, 'Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness." And Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace." (Exodus 14:12-14). The LORD then instructed Moses to lift up his hand and stretch over the Red Sea to divide it (Exodus 14:16). Prior to this, the LORD had told Moses to not cry out to him but to do something which in this case was to put out his hand so that He could spilt the Red Sea.
Some seasons of uncertainty and prayer require us to take some kind of action on our part. The LORD had told the children of Israel that He would deliver them and save them from their enemies but Moses, their leader had an active role to play which was definitely not passive. This maybe the case for you today, that as you continue to pray and believe on God to activate your miracle with His power, you maybe required to undertake some action. For instance, if you are believeing God to own a business in the future, have a vision board and save some money from your current paycheque. Take the next smallest step for whatever you maybe seeking the LORD for James 2:17 tell us, that "faith without works is dead." As a child of God, it is important to remember that a big part of faith is believing and taking the appropriate action. While we do our part, God at the right time, puts His supernatural on our natural to answer our prayers.
This chapter also shows us that sometimes God will let the enemy pursue His children not because He is oblivious to the pain that His children are experiencing but because victory is assured and His glory will manifest for entire generations. The LORD said in Exodus 14:18, "Then the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I have gained honor for Myself over Pharaoh and his chariots, and his horsemen." To this day we still give reverence to the LORD for this great act of splitting the Red Sea and letting the children of Israel walk on dry ground (Exodus 14:29) while the Egyptian horsemen and their chariots drowned in the Sea (Exodus 14:28) .
As seen in chapter 13, we noted that the children of Israel always had the presence of the LORD following them everywhere they travelled and camped. However, in this particular passage we see that the angel of the LORD and the pillar of cloud that was leading them since they started their journey went and stood behind them to make sure that their was a separation between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel (Exodus 14:20). No matter how the dark situation is, the enemy can only get so close to God's children.
This also shows us how the LORD Jesus is always closet to all His children especially in the darkest hour of sadness when they may feel His presence the least. I join my faith with yours and ask the LORD to silence every voice of the enemy that is speaking against your life and advancement In the Name of Jesus. Thank you LORD that the enemies we see today, we shall never see again In the Name of Jesus. Amen.
This mighty act of the LORD that delivered the children of Israel out of the hands of their enemies gave them hope in the LORD's promise of a land flowing with milk and honey. Interestingly, it also gained Moses respect before their eyes. Exodus 14:31 says, "Thus Israel saw the great work which the LORD had done in Egypt; so the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD and His servant Moses."
